Ingredients

  • 2 kg minced meat, mixed
  • 1 packet beef jerky or pork belly, smoked
  • 1 package baking mix for sourdough or farmer`s bread, kg
  • water (according to package instructions)
  • 2 packs cheese, grated (00 g each)
  • 3 cans mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 packet tomato sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 medium onion (s)
  • salt
  • Paprika powder
  • Spice mix (e.g. pizza or gyros spice)
  • possibly corn
  • possibly pickled cucumber (s)
  • possibly leek
  • possibly bell pepper (s) or other vegetables
  • Oil for the sheet

Instructions

  1. Prepare the bread mix according to instructions. In the meantime, put the minced meat in a large bowl. Cut the onions and the beef into small cubes, peel off the garlic cloves and dice finely.
  2. Roughly chop the mushrooms with a knife and add everything to the minced meat. If you like, you can also work corn, pickles, peppers, leeks or other vegetables into the minced meat dough. Season the mixture with salt, paprika powder and the spice mixture.
  3. Preheat the oven to 180 ° C. When the bread dough has risen a little, roll out a rectangle about 1 cm thick. Spread the tomato sauce on top and season a little with the spice mixture, paprika and salt.
  4. Now distribute the meat mixture on the bread dough and leave a border of approx. 2 cm. Put the tomato sauce and the grated cheese on the meat mixture again. Season everything again and roll up like a strudel.
  5. Put the whole thing on a lightly oiled baking sheet. If you want, you can brush the bread with tomato sauce. Bake the bread for a good hour. A fresh green salad goes well with it.
