I propose to cook delicious Asian pies at home, which everyone, without exception, will surely like. They are not at all difficult to make from puff or unleavened dough.
Cook: 4 hour
Servings: 1
Ingredients
Pork or Beef – 600-700 Grams
Onions – 4-5 Pieces
Flour – 1 Kilogram
Water – 2 Glasses
Salt – 2.5-3 Teaspoons (2 tablespoons – in the dough, the rest to taste for the filling)
Ground black pepper – 1/3 Teaspoons
Butter – 200 Grams
Egg – 1 Piece
Sesame seeds – 2 Tbsp. spoons
Vegetable oil – 2-3 tbsp
Directions
Cut the meat into very small pieces with a sharp knife.
Peel and dice the onion.
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, put prepared onions and meat. Fry over medium heat.
And then we repeat all the processes in the same way as in working with unleavened dough.
Roll out into a cake, lay out the filling and butter, form samsa, grease it with yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds. We bake samosa from puff pastry at a temperature of 200 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
When the meat and onions are almost ready, salt and pepper them to taste. Dried basil and cumin can be added. Set aside the finished meat to cool.
Pour water into the bowl in which we will make the dough. Dissolve the salt in it.
Add flour, knead the dough.
Knead the dough well so that it becomes smooth and elastic. Wrap the dough in plastic and leave it alone for 15 minutes.
Then we divide the dough into two parts. We will postpone one part for now, and divide the second into equal pieces.
Roll out each piece of dough into a very thin cake. We spread in the center of each filling, and on top of it – a small piece of butter.
Then we form the samsa. The traditional shape of these pies is triangular. Pinch the edges carefully to prevent the tasty juice from spilling out when baking.
We spread the finished pies on a baking sheet, greased with vegetable oil. Lubricate them with yolk, whipped with 1 tablespoon of water, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
We take the second part of the unleavened dough, roll it into a thin-thin layer. Lubricate with melted, but not hot (!!!) butter.
And roll the dough very tightly into a roll.
Roll up a roll of dough like a snail and put it in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
While the puff pastry is lying in the refrigerator, you can bake samsa from unleavened dough. Pies are baked at 180 degrees for about 20 minutes.
