Sugar Buns Made from Puff Yeast Dough

The recipe for delicious homemade sugar buns. Sugar buns-rings are baked from puff yeast dough.

Ingredients

  • Flour – 1.5 cups
  • Milk – 0.5 cups
  • Dry yeast – 0.75 teaspoon
  • Sugar – 1-2 tbsp in dough + for filling
  • Salt – 0.25 teaspoon
  • Butter – 50-100 g

Directions

  1. Prepare yeast dough for buns. To do this, add yeast, salt and sugar to warm (35 degrees) milk. Add flour after 5 minutes. Knead the dough. Leave on for 2 hours.
  2. Knead the dough again. Roll it into a rectangular layer. Put half the butter evenly in the middle, cover with one of the edges of the dough, add the butter again, cover with the second edge of the dough.
  3. Roll out the dough to a thickness of 0.7 cm, fold the rectangle in four. Leave the bun dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into equal parts (the amount depends on the size of the bun you want). Roll each portion into a long rectangle 3 mm thick, sprinkle with sugar.
  5. Roll up in a roll along the long side.
  6. Make incisions.
  7. Roll up into a ring, fasten the edges. Cover yeast buns with sugar with a towel, leave for 40-60 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 190 degrees. Bake sugar rings – homemade buns with sugar, from puff yeast dough, in the oven for 20-30 minutes, until golden brown.
