Ingredients

  • 12 g yeast, (fresh)
  • 3 tablespoon honey
  • 355 ml milk, (lukewarm)
  • 2 large egg (s)
  • 85 g butter, (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 300 grams flour

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk, put the yeast and honey in a bowl and stir. Add some of the lukewarm milk, stir and set aside.
  2. Mix the eggs with the rest of the milk in a bowl. Melt the butter briefly in the microwave, stir into the egg milk with the vanilla extract and salt. Now briefly stir in the yeast mixture and sift the flour over it. Mix this until everything is well combined. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour. Bubbles should then have formed on the dough.
  3. Then preheat the waffle iron and fry the thick batter in portions. Depending on the waffle iron, you still need butter to grease it, but that`s not necessary for me.
  4. The dough always makes 10 very large waffles for me. They taste best fresh and they are very fine for breakfast with butter and honey.
