Ingredients

  • 1 kg tomato (s)
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 0.5 ½ small onion (s)
  • 6 small rolls (baguette) to bake yourself
  • 100 g ham (Serrano-), or another milder one
  • 70 ml olive oil, as strong as possible
  • 15 olives, black, pitted
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Bake the rolls in the oven to finish.
  2. Meanwhile, cut the tomatoes into small cubes and remove the seeds. Chop the onions and olives into small pieces, press the garlic cloves. Add everything to the tomato pieces, season with salt and pepper, add olive oil, stir well, leave to stand for 1 hour, if possible.
  3. Cut the rolls open, spread the mixture about 1-2 cm thick, finally place the ham in suitable pieces on top. It is best to do it about 1 hour before serving, so the roll can still pull a little.
  4. At first glance you don`t think that smoked ham and tomatoes go so well together, but I definitely think this variant is a great improvement on the normal bruschetta.
  5. You can also do without the onions and olives, but I think they are very good with them. Either way - ultra healthy and super delicious.
  6. One of my favorite recipes, it is often served in southern Spain and the Canary Islands.
