Herring at Home

Delicious appetizer – herring with onions, in mayonnaise and mustard.

Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • Salted herring fillet – 1 pc.
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Mayonnaise – 2 tbsp
  • Granular mustard – 1 teaspoon
  • Parsley or dill – to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste

Directions

  1. Ingredients for homemade herring.
  2. Peel and chop the onions.
  3. Cut herring fillets into small pieces. The fillet must be free of skin and bones.
  4. Put onions and herring into a jar.
  5. For the marinade, combine mayonnaise with mustard, finely chopped herbs, season with black pepper, mix.
  6. Mix the herring with the marinade. Cover the jar with a lid and refrigerate for 30-40 minutes.
  7. A delicious homemade herring appetizer is ready.
