Potato Head

Today I propose to cook a simple but very tasty dish from the most ordinary potatoes – potato grandma. Everyone will be full and happy! I have no acquaintances who would not love potatoes, and, as in the famous movie “Girls”, I know many recipes from it. This recipe is simple, delicious, and I really like the presentation. At first glance, you can’t even tell that it is an ordinary potato!

Cook: 20 minutes

Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • Potatoes – 1 kg
  • Bacon or ham – 250 g
  • Flour – 3 tbsp
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Eggs – 3 pcs.
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp + for greasing the mold
  • Seasoning for potatoes – 1.5 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste

For decoration:

  • Lettuce and basil leaves – a few twigs
  • Cherry tomatoes – 5-7 pcs.

Directions

  1. Prepare the ingredients for making potato grandma.
  2. Cut the peeled potatoes into smaller pieces and boil until tender, adding salt during cooking.
  3. Cut the peeled onions into small cubes and fry in vegetable oil until golden brown. Cut the skinless bacon into small cubes and fry too.
  4. Drain the water completely and crush the potatoes until smooth. Turn on the oven to heat up to 180 degrees.
  5. Add the onion and potato seasoning to the still-hot mashed potatoes. Mix. Allow the potatoes to cool until slightly warm.
  6. Beat eggs lightly with a whisk. Add eggs to the potatoes. Mix. Pour flour in portions and mix again, thoroughly. Add bacon and stir.
  7. Place the resulting mass in a mold greased with oil or fat, and send it to an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 40 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven, allow to cool until warm, and remove from the mold. Decorate with herbs and tomatoes. All good!
