Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 200 g flour
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ salt
  • 150 g butter

For covering:

  • 2 bunch spring onion (s)
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 4 egg (s)
  • 100 g bacon, smoked
  • 2 tablespoon flour
  • salt
  • 100 g cheese (Emmentaler), rated

Instructions

  1. Prepare shortcrust pastry from the dough ingredients, let it rest for half an hour, then line a spring sheet (32 cm) with it.
  2. Cut the onion tubes (spring onions) into pieces approx. 1 cm long and spread on the cake base. Mix the sour cream with the eggs, bacon, flour and salt and place on the tube. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake at 225 degrees for about 15-20 minutes. Serve hot.
  3. Traditionally served on Maundy Thursday. The green before the word Thursday does not come from the color, by the way, but from greinen, i.e. crying (e.g. also when chopping onions).
