Ingredients

  • 250 g lentils, brown
  • 1 liter water, or more for the lentils
  • 1 bunch Swiss chard
  • 1 large onion (s)
  • some olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon mint, dried
  • 2 lemon (s), add the juice
  • Salt, as needed
  • possibly flour

Instructions

  1. The lentils are cooked soft in plenty of water.
  2. The chopped chard is added and cooked until soft.
  3. In the meantime, dice the onion and fry it in olive oil until golden brown, add to the saucepan and the above-mentioned spices as well. At the end you add the lemon juice to the soup, if it is too liquid you can thicken it slightly with flour dissolved in the water. Not too much, it should still be soupy.
  4. You can use other vegetables instead of the chard, e.g. potatoes or zucchini. Some also take both.
  5. I took this recipe from my mom and it`s just delicious!
