Bread Tartlets with Corn, Ham and Green Peas

Bread slices tartlets are perfect for a festive table.

Ingredients

  • White bread – 8 slices
  • Butter (room temperature) – 80 g (about 1/2 cup)
  • Flour – 40 g (1/4 cup)
  • Ground pepper (preferably white) – 1/8 teaspoon.
  • Milk 2.5% – 250 ml (1 glass)
  • Cream 33% – 250 ml (1 glass)
  • Ham – 350 g (about 1.5-2 cups chopped)
  • Green peas (thawed) – 170 g (1 cup)
  • Corn grains (thawed) – 170 g (1 cup)
  • Paprika – to taste

Directions

  1. Turn on the oven to preheat to 180 degrees. Cut off the crust of bread slices and use a rolling pin to roll out the bread to a thickness of about 3 mm.
  2. Grease each rolled bread slice on both sides with butter (using half the butter).
  3. Place the bread slices in muffin tins and press down well with your hands. Place the tartlets in a preheated oven for 15-18 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, prepare the filling for the tartlets. In a small saucepan (saucepan), melt the remaining butter. Add flour, stirring, and pepper.
  5. Pour in milk and cream little by little, stir until smooth. Bring sauce to a boil and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 2 more minutes. Remove from heat.
  6. Cut the ham into small cubes. Add ham, green peas and corn to the prepared sauce. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes.
  7. Put the mixture in the tartlets and sprinkle with paprika. Serve hot tartlets immediately.
