Lavash Roll with Cabbage and Cheese (in the Oven)

Lavash roll with cabbage and cheese is a simple homemade recipe for a delicious and easy to prepare breakfast or snack. The roll is baked in the oven, the lavash becomes crispy, the cheese melts inside, in combination with juicy stewed cabbage it turns out very tasty.

Ingredients

  • White cabbage – 450 g
  • Carrots – 70 g
  • Onions – 65 g
  • Tomato paste – 1 tbsp
  • Mozzarella cheese – 120 g
  • Thin lavash – 100 g
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Vegetable oil – for frying

Directions

  1. Peel the onions and carrots. Cut the onion into small cubes. Grate carrots on a coarse grater.
  2. Chop the cabbage finely.
  3. Grate cheese on a coarse grater.
  4. In a frying pan in vegetable oil, sauté onion and carrots, season with salt and pepper.
  5. Put cabbage with onions with carrots, cover and fry for 5 minutes, until reduced in volume.
  6. Dilute the tomato paste with 2 tbsp of hot water, add to the pan. Mix well, cover and simmer the cabbage until soft, 20 minutes over low heat.
  7. Put the finished cabbage with onions and carrots into a bowl and cool.
  8. Then add grated cheese to the fried vegetables, mix. The filling for pita bread is ready.
  9. Turn on the oven to heat up to 180 degrees. Spread a sheet of lavash on the table. Put the cabbage filling on the pita bread and distribute it evenly over the entire surface.
  10. Roll up pita bread with a roll.
  11. Put the pita roll with cabbage and cheese on a baking sheet and bake in an oven heated to 180 degrees for 15 minutes.
  12. Cool the finished pita roll a little, then cut into pieces and serve.
