Ingredients

  • 1 pack dough, frozen (filo dough)
  • 500 g minced beef
  • 1 carrot (s)
  • 2 onions)
  • 2 cloves garlic)
  • 50 g peas, fine, frozen
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce, Indonesian
  • 1 tablespoon sauce, Japanese (teriyaki sauce)
  • 1 pinch (s) spice mixture, Chinese
  • Chilli flakes
  • salt and pepper
  • oil

Instructions

  1. Finely chop the carrots, onions and garlic and fry in oil with the peas. Add the minced meat, fry it and crumble it into small pieces with a fork. Add soy sauce, teriyaki sauce and Chinese spice mixture and season with chilli, salt and pepper. To let it cool down.
  2. Roll out the thawed filo dough (also called yufka dough, available in the Turkish grocery store) and cut into squares of 15 x 15 cm. When you get the thin variety, stack 3 sheets on top of each other.
  3. Cover the squares with the filling and form small packages with the dough. Glue the ends with egg white so that they don`t rise when frying.
  4. Then they are deep-fried in plenty of oil until they turn a brown color. Serve with or without a sauce as desired.
