- 2 cans kidney beans

- The most difficult work step follows right at the beginning. After you have opened the kidney bean cans (tip: buy cans with a so-called ring pull, they are easy to open) you have to carefully pour off the bean water. Pour the liquid away until it becomes a little thicker and loses its watery consistency. Here you stop pouring, because we use the rest as additional seasoning. You may need a little practice to do this, but after a few tries you will certainly succeed with it. Then pour the kidney beans and the rest of the bean water into the salad bowl.
- Now you can get on with the onion. You don`t have to chop these very finely, you can cut them into coarse, hearty pieces. When it comes to the size, the beans are helpful for orientation. If the onion pieces are a bit smaller than the kidney beans, you`ve done everything right. Simply put the onion pieces over the beans in the bowl.
- Now comes the sunflower oil (here you can also use rapeseed or olive oil, depending on your taste, but the salad is traditionally dressed with sunflower oil) and the vinegar over onions and beans.
- Finally, taste the salad with salt and pepper. Then mix well once so that the bean water, oil and vinegar mix well and you have the perfect companion for your barbecue evening. Everyone is happy about that and it happens very quickly.
