Instructions

  1. Rub the potatoes well under water (with hand or brush) and cut in half lengthways. Place the potato halves on a baking sheet with the cut surface facing up. Sprinkle the cut surfaces thinly but evenly with salt up to the edge (it is best to use a small table salt shaker).
  2. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 ° C for about 25-35 minutes. After the salt dissolves, a kind of skin forms, which later puffs up. When the skin is slightly brown and bulging, the potatoes need about 5 minutes more!
  3. Now you can brush the potatoes with a little olive oil and sprinkle with marjoram or rosemary or the like on top. Personally, however, I just like it with freshly ground pepper and a little butter.
  4. Very simple but amazingly tasty side dish for grilled meat, steaks or roasts. In addition (without butter of course) the healthiest way to prepare potatoes, as the peel is still on, no fat is used and no ingredients are extracted because the potatoes do not get into the water.
