Ingredients

  • 500g flour
  • 1 packet yeast
  • 50 grams sugar
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 egg (s)
  • 1 egg white
  • 250 ml cream
  • 1 egg yolk for brushing

Instructions

  1. Sift the flour into a bowl, mix well with the yeast, vanilla sugar, sugar, salt, eggs, egg white and the lukewarm cream using a hand mixer with the dough hook. Cover the dough and let it rest in a warm place until it has enlarged.
  2. Preheat the oven to 175 ° C.
  3. Knead the dough again (if you like, you can work in raisins). Divide the dough into 3 equal portions, shape into a roll and braid into a plait. Place the braid on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Whisk the egg yolk and brush the braid with it. Let the braid rise again in a warm place for 30 minutes.
  4. When the braid has enlarged again, put it in the oven on medium heat and bake for 30 minutes. If the braid is golden brown in color, it is ready and can be taken out of the oven. Then cover with a cloth and let cool.
