Pear Jam with Poppy Seeds

Aromatic and tasty pear jam with poppy seeds will be an excellent addition for thin pancakes, pancakes, pancakes. It can be used as a filling for pies, croissants and bagels. Jam is made in just 25-30 minutes!

Ingredients

  • Pears (grade “Duchess”) – 1.5 kg
  • Sugar – 0.5 kg
  • Poppy – 0.5 cups
  • Vanilla sugar – 1 sachet
  • Citric acid – 1/3 teaspoon.
  • Ground cinnamon (optional) – to taste

Directions

  1. Prepare the necessary ingredients for the pear jam with poppy seeds. Rinse the pears, cut off any browning from them, if any.
  2. Cut each pear into quarters and remove the seed blocks.
  3. Place the container on the stove, turning on medium heat, be sure to cover it with a lid. Simmer the jam for about 20-25 minutes from the moment of boiling, stirring occasionally so that it does not burn
  4. Pass the fruit quarters through a meat grinder. They can also be chopped in the bowl of a food processor. If you do not like the peel in the jam, then peel the fruit from it in advance.
  5. Pour the crushed pear puree into a cauldron or saucepan with a non-stick bottom. Add poppy seeds there (you don’t need to steam it beforehand), sugar, vanilla sugar and citric acid. You can add some ground cinnamon if you like
  6. Place the container on the stove, turning on medium heat, be sure to cover it with a lid. Simmer the jam for about 20-25 minutes from the moment of boiling, stirring occasionally so that it does not bur
  7. After the specified time, put the hot pear jam, with poppy seeds, in scalded jars and screw them with scalded lids or roll them up if you want to seal the dessert for the winter. Remember to save some of the treats for tasting and let cool slightly. Serve with hot buttered toast and aromatic tea or coffee for breakfast or afternoon tea. Bon appetit!
