Peasant Soup

We suggest you include a peasant soup in your lunch menu. It is not hard to guess what the name of the first dish got thanks to the use of simple and affordable ingredients. Our version is a peasant soup with chicken broth. The food turns out to be hearty and rich.

Ingredients

  • Chicken – 0.5 pcs.
  • Millet – 100 g
  • Potatoes – 4-5 pcs.
  • Fresh greens – 4-5 branches
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. We prepare in the specified amount the ingredients that are needed to make the peasant soup. We will cook the soup in a 2.5-3 liter saucepan.
  2. Cut half the chicken into pieces. We transport them to the pan. Fill with water, cook for about 30-40 minutes. We remove the boiled chicken parts from the pan, filter the resulting broth.
  3. We wash potato tubers under running water. We clean them, and then cut them into cubes. Transfer the chopped potatoes to chicken broth.
  4. We wash the millet very thoroughly. We sort out the groats industrially, we extract the black grains, if any. We send the washed millet to the pot to the potatoes.
  5. Bring the ingredients to a boil, cover the pan with a lid. Cook the soup for about 15 minutes. At the end of cooking, season the peasant soup with salt to taste.
  6. Separate the cooled chicken meat from the bones. Transfer the meat ingredient to the soup.
  7. Rinse and dry fresh herbs with a paper towel. Chop it finely. We transport the greens to the soup. Cook the peasant soup for another 2-3 minutes.
  8. Hearty and appetizing peasant soup with chicken is ready! Enjoy your meal!
