Ingredients

  • 1 kg potato (s), floury cooking
  • 6 egg (s)
  • 2 tablespoon flour
  • 100 g butter
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ nutmeg
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ black pepper

Instructions

  1. Peel and quarter the potatoes and cook in water with a teaspoon of salt for about 20-25 minutes. Drain and allow to evaporate.
  2. Separate eggs. Beat egg whites into egg whites. Beat egg yolks with butter until frothy. Add the flour, nutmeg, pepper and 1 teaspoon salt.
  3. Preheat the oven to grill setting (hottest setting).
  4. Press through the lukewarm potatoes and mix with the egg yolk mixture. Subject the egg whites.
  5. Line a small baking dish (approx. 20x30cm) with baking paper.
  6. Spread part of the potato mixture approx. 0.5 cm thick and bake for approx. 4 minutes until a noticeable browning has developed. Then comes the next shift, etc., until everything is used up.
  7. Cut the tree cake into diamonds or squares.
  8. Great accompaniment to all roasts and meat dishes or to eat just like that, possibly with a dip. Serve hot, lukewarm or cold.
