Ingredients

  • 1.1 kg roast beef, slightly streaky
  • 1 onion (s), very thinly sliced
  • 150 ml beef broth, well seasoned
  • 1 tablespoon spice mix, (BBQ or steak seasoning)
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar, dark
  • salt and pepper
  • honey

Also:

  • Bun, (hamburger bun)
  • Sauce to taste

Instructions

  1. First, spread the onion slices in the crock pot and pour the warm beef broth over them. Rinse the roast briefly with clear water and rub the BBQ spice well on all sides. The meat is now also placed in the pot and evenly drizzled with the balsamic vinegar.
  2. The braising time is approx. 5 hours at the highest setting (HIGH) or until the roast is almost crumbling. Carefully lift the meat out and place in a shallow, unbreakable bowl. Tear everything with two forks along the grain, first coarse, then fine. Put the resulting pulled beef back into the braising liquid. Finally, season with salt, pepper and possibly a little honey. Keep warm on the lowest setting (LOW) until serving.
  3. Best served on soft hamburger buns with your favorite sauce.
  4. Tip: Leftovers can also be frozen very well in portions.
