Bananas in Puff Pastry with Honey and Orange Peel

Dip bananas in a fragrant mixture of honey and orange zest, wrap them in puff pastry and put them in the oven for a delicious dessert. Above – a ruddy golden crust, inside – a fragrant and delicate filling. Bananas in puff pastry with honey and orange peel will definitely not stay on the table!

Ingredients

  • Bananas – 2 pcs. (430 g)
  • Yeast-free puff pastry – 230 g
  • Liquid honey – 40-50 g
  • Orange (zest) – 1 pc. (170 g)
  • Sugar – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Flour for working with dough – 10-15 g

Directions

  1. We prepare the necessary products. Remove the puff pastry from the freezer and leave to defrost for about 30 minutes at room temperature.
  2. Remove the orange part of the zest from the orange with a fine grater. The zest is about 1 tbsp.
  3. Add orange zest to the honey.
  4. Mix the honey with the zest.
  5. Roll out the dough layer into a layer approximately 0.3 mm thick. If necessary, dust the table with flour. Cut 2-3 identical strips from the dough about 3 cm wide.
  6. I cut 3 strips 3 cm wide and 36 cm long.If your strips are longer, you can cut 2 pieces.
  7. Cut the remaining strip of dough into 3 more thin strips 1 cm wide.
  8. Then we wrap the banana in a spiral with thick strips. You need to wrap it so that the edges of the dough are in close contact with each other. I was missing one strip, so I added another half of the second strip, overlapping the edges of the strips a little and blinding them.
  9. Here’s a banana wrapped in puff pastry, turned out.
  10. Then we wrap the banana in a spiral with a thin strip, applying it to the seam. Also, if one strip is missing, add the second.
  11. In this way, we wrap both bananas.
  12. We turn on the oven to heat up to 170-180 degrees.
  13. Separate the yolk from the protein. You don’t need protein. Add 0.5 teaspoons of sugar to the yolk and mix.
  14. Lubricate the dough with yolk.
  15. Cover the baking sheet with parchment and spread the bananas.
  16. We send to the oven for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.
  17. Bananas in puff pastry, honey and orange peel, ready. Bon Appetit!
