Butter Buns with Pudding

Buns captivate with their appetizing appearance and aroma. I would like to try them soon! Inside the buns, a surprise awaits us: a fragrant and delicate filling made from pudding mix. Be sure to bake these quirky buns!

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • Milk (warm) – 200 ml
  • Butter – 35 g
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Sugar – 2 tbsp
  • Flour / s – 400 g (3 glasses with a capacity of 200 ml)
  • Dry yeast – 4 g
  • Salt – 1 pinch
  • Vanillin – on the tip of a knife

For filling:

  • Vanilla pudding (dry mix) or custard – 85 g (1 sachet)
  • Milk or water – about 50 ml (according to the instructions on the pudding mix)

Additionally:

  • Yolk (for greasing buns) – 1 pc.
  • Powdered sugar (for serving) – to taste

Directions

  1. We prepare the necessary products.
    We heat the milk to a slightly warm state (30-35 degrees).
  2. Dissolve the yeast in warm milk, stir, cover and set aside for now.
  3. Melt the butter, cool. Then add sugar, egg, salt and vanillin.
  4. Stir the ingredients until smooth.
  5. During this time, the yeast in warm milk was activated.
  6. Sift a glass of flour, add to the milk-yeast mixture and mix.
  7. Add a mixture of butter, eggs and sugar. We mix.
  8. Sift the rest of the flour into a deep bowl, add the batter.
  9. Knead smooth dough. Cover the bowl with the dough and put it in a warm place for 1 hour.
  10. We prepare the filling for the buns: we make pudding (I have vanilla) or custard, following the instructions on the package, we only take water or milk 50 ml less than the specified amount.
  11. Cook the pudding (or cream) until the desired thickness.
  12. Knead the dough that has come up and divide into 8 equal parts. Round off the pieces of dough.
  13. Roll each piece of dough into an oval-shaped cake.
  14. Stepping back slightly from the edge, spread 1-2 teaspoons of the filling on the short side of the cake.
  15. Wrap the edge of the dough over the filling and pinch it carefully in the middle of the cake so that the filling does not leak out. The second side of the cake remained free – cut it into strips.
  16. We wrap the closed filling with strips of dough so that the edges of the strips are at the bottom.
  17. Cover the baking sheet with parchment paper.
    We spread the buns on a baking sheet and let them prove for 10-15 minutes.
    We turn on the oven to heat up to 180 degrees.
  18. Mix the yolk with half a teaspoon of water and gently grease the buns on top.
    We bake buns in an oven preheated to 180 degrees until golden brown, for about 15-20 minutes (be guided by the characteristics of your oven).
  19. The pudding rolls are ready. Let them cool down a little.
  20. Put the buns on a plate, sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy.
