Ingredients

  • 10 g butter
  • 120 g barley (ourmet barley, classic)
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 350 ml milk
  • applesauce
  • cinnamon sugar

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter and briefly sweat the gourmet barley in it. Add the salt. Gradually pour the milk into the grains as you would with a risotto. After each new addition of milk, bring everything to the boil and simmer until the milk has boiled down a little.
  2. Stir again and again in between, constant stirring is not necessary. In total, it takes the grains about 20 minutes to soften but still have a pleasant bite.
  3. Serve the finished milk barley with applesauce and cinnamon sugar. A delicious dessert. Something different than rice pudding and ready even faster.
