  • 250 grams sugar
  • 100 g butter, soft
  • 250 g flour
  • 1 glass milk
  • some cocoa powder
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Separate the eggs. First beat the egg whites in a bowl with a mixer until stiff, then set aside.
  2. Place the egg yolks and sugar, butter, flour and milk in a bowl and mix with a mixer to form a dough. Then color the dough with cocoa (about 2 tablespoon) medium brown to dark brown. Mix well again. Then fold in the egg whites with a large spoon.
  3. Spread the dough in a greased tray (normal oven tray, about 2-4 cm deep). Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 25 minutes. Use a wooden stick to check whether the dough is baked through. Allow to cool slightly in the baking tray, then cut into squares (approx. 4 by 4 cm) and serve. If necessary, sieve the cooled cake with a little icing sugar.
  4. Tastes warm and cold. The cake is very chocolatey and quite moist. Old traditional family recipe that a certain Ms. Mayer gave my great-grandparents.
