Instructions

  1. Put the flour in a bowl, add a little more liquid to freshly ground flour, make a well.
  2. Dissolve the yeast with a little milk and place in the center. Cover with a little flour and let rise in a warm place for about 20 minutes.
  3. Chop the nuts. I mostly use walnuts, but other types also work. I take the amount according to my taste.
  4. Knead in the rest of the milk with the butter, sugar, egg and nuts and form small rolls. Place on a greased baking sheet and cover again for another half an hour.
  5. Bake in the oven at 200 degrees for about 25 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack.
  6. Delicious with homemade jam, but also with cheese or just with butter.
  7. Tip:
  8. Also tastes great with raisins.

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
