Ingredients

  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 3 medium carrot (s)
  • 1 red pepper (s)
  • 3 spring onion (s)
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon, heaped vegetable paste (vegetable-herb-seasoning paste)
  • Curry powder
  • salt and pepper
  • parsley

Instructions

  1. With cup we mean the measuring cup supplied with the pot. This holds about 140 ml. You can find a recipe for vegetable-herb-spice paste in my recipes. As an alternative to the seasoning paste, you can stir some stock powder into the water.
  2. Cut the vegetables into bite-sized pieces, cut the spring onions into rings. Put the rice in the multicooker, add the water and the seasoning paste and stir well. Make sure that all rice grains are covered by the water. Now distribute the cut vegetables evenly over the top. Close the lid and valve. Set the rice program for 1 - 3 cups, duration 5 minutes plus heating time. When the cooking process is finished, switch off the multi-cooker and slowly let off the steam. Season the rice with curry, salt and pepper. If you like, you can sprinkle some chopped parsley on top.
  3. The recipe is enough for 2 people as a main course or for 4 people as a side dish e.g., to fish.
