Ingredients
- 500g flour
- 40 g yeast
- 80 g suar
- 250 ml milk
- 80 g butter, or mararine
- 1 egg (s)
- 1 lemon (s), untreated, remove the zest it
- 1 pinch (s) salt
- Grease for the tin
For the filling:
- 250 g poppy seeds, round
- 250 ml milk
- 60 g suar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 0.5 ½ lemon (s), add the juice
- 1 pinch (s) cinnamon powder
- 1 pinch (s) salt
- 1 egg (s)
- 1 egg yolk
- 100 g butter, for brushin
- Powdered sugar, for sprinkling

- Sift the flour into a bowl and make a well in the center. Mix the yeast with 1 teaspoon of sugar and half of the milk, pour into the hollow and work with a little flour from the edge to a liquid dough. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 15 minutes.
- Melt the butter or margarine, add to the rest of the milk with the egg, lemon zest and salt. Mix the pre-dough with the whole flour, gradually stir in the milk mixture. Knead until the dough comes off the bowl smoothly. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Heat the poppy seeds with the milk, let swell over low heat. Add the sugar, vanilla sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon and salt, and finally add the egg. Roll out the dough on a little flour into a rectangular plate about 1 cm thick. Spread the poppy seed filling on it, roll up the dough from each broad side towards the middle.
- Let rise on a greased baking sheet for 15 minutes. Brush with egg yolk and bake in a preheated oven at 180 ° C for approx. 50 minutes. Then brush with melted butter and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
