Pork with Pineapple in Sweet and Sour Sauce

Sweet and sour pork with pineapple is a hearty dish for lunch or dinner. If you like the combination of fruit and meat, then this recipe is for you. Juicy pieces of meat, crispy pineapple slices, and all this in a sweet and sour sauce. Delicious, try it. It is easy and quick to prepare.

Servings: 3

Ingredients

  • Pork (pulp) – 500 g
  • Canned pineapple pieces – 565 g (1 can)
  • Tomato sauce – 75 g
  • Soy sauce – 2 tbsp
  • Vegetable oil – 50 ml
  • Corn starch – 20 g
  • Green onions (for serving) – 20 g

Directions

  1. Rinse the meat well and pat dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. Cut the meat into small pieces.
  2. Add cornstarch to the pork.
  3. Stir until all the meat pieces are breaded in starch on all sides.
  4. Pour vegetable oil into the pan and heat it well. Place the meat pieces at a short distance from each other. Fry for 6-10 minutes over high heat, until golden brown. If the meat does not fit into the pan in one layer, it is better to fry in two steps (the pieces of meat should not touch each other).
  5. Put the ruddy pieces of meat on a plate.
  6. Rinse the pan out of the oil (or use another). Pour 200 ml pineapple syrup, soy sauce, and tomato sauce into it. Bring to a boil over moderate heat, stirring occasionally.
  7. Lower the meat pieces. Let it boil. Cover and simmer over low heat for 10-15 minutes.
  8. Add pineapple slices. Stir. Cook covered for another 5 minutes from the boil.
  9. Pork with pineapple in the sweet and sour sauce is ready. Chop green onions and sprinkle them over the finished dish.
