Ingredients

  • 150 g quark (low-fat quark)
  • 250 ml milk
  • 6 tablespoon oil
  • 85 grams sugar
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 1 lemon (s) - zest, grated
  • 300 grams flour
  • 1 packet baking powder

Instructions

  1. Knead the quark, flour, baking powder, 50ml milk, oil, 75g sugar, salt, vanilla sugar and lemon zest with a dough hook for approx. 3-4 minutes until a uniform mass is formed.
  2. Shape the dough into round balls (Buchteln) and place in a greased pan and pour approx. 150ml of milk over them.
  3. Bake at 200 degrees for about 25 minutes.
  4. After 15 minutes of baking, brush with the remaining 50ml of milk and sprinkle with 10g of sugar and leave to bake until the Buchteln are golden brown.
  5. Vanilla sauce and / or sour cherries go best with it.
