Instructions

  1. Season the ground beef well with a crushed clove of garlic, salt, pepper and paprika powder. Divide into 5 portions and form balls, then flatten them. You should make them a little flatter than you would like them to be, as they will still contract in the pan.
  2. Finely grate the potatoes, squeeze out the liquid and mix the potatoes with an egg. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Bake 5 hash browns from the potatoes.
  3. Fry the bacon in the pan until crispy, the minced meat until it is done and has taken off some color. Just before the end of the roasting process, place a slice of cheese on each piece of meat and let it melt slightly.
  4. Mix the crème fraîche, garlic, chives, tomato paste and mustard, then season with salt and pepper.
  5. Now assemble the burger: cut the rolls open, place the minced meat pattie on the lower half, on top of that the rösti, on top of each of 1 - 2 slices of bacon, on top of that a good dollop of the crème fraîche sauce. Close the burger and enjoy.
  6. If you want it to be quick, you can of course also use purchased hash browns.
  7. A barbecue sauce also works well as a sauce.
