Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 500g flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cube yeast
  • 0.25 liter ¼ milk
  • 100 g butter or mararine
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg (s)

  • Salt, coarse and

Instructions

  1. Put the flour in a bowl, make a well in the middle and add the crumbled yeast with a little sugar. Pour the lukewarm milk over it and dissolve the yeast in it. Then let stand for 15 minutes.
  2. Spread the salt, butter and egg on the edge of the flour and work everything into a dough. Put the dough in a bowl and cover and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
  3. Roll out the dough, cut into triangles and shape into croissants. Brush the croissants with egg yolk and sprinkle with salt and caraway seeds. Bake on the middle rack at 180 ° C for about 25 minutes until golden.
  4. The salt croissants were served with paprika, bean soup or other soups or simply eaten as a starter. The salt croissants also go well with a nice glass of red wine.
