Ingredients

  • 1 chicken, approx. 800 g, cut into 8 pieces

For the spice mix: (for the meat)

  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ oregano, dried
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ thyme, dried
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ basil, dried
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ sage, dried
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ paprika powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ cayenne pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ salt, (onion salt)
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ marjoram, dried

Also: (for the breading)

  • 125 ml milk
  • 2 egg (s)
  • 250 g flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ paprika powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ garlic powder
  • 2 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ black pepper

  • 700 g fat, (deep-fryin fat)

Instructions

  1. Rub the chicken pieces with the spice mixture and place in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours, then remove and place on kitchen paper.
  2. Heat the frying fat in a deep fryer to 180 degrees.
  3. Mix the milk with the eggs in a bowl. In another bowl, mix the flour, paprika, baking powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper together. Now pull each part through the milk mixture and then through the flour mixture. Then pull the parts through the milk mixture again and again through the flour mixture. Place the breaded parts on a plate. Then put half of the pieces in the deep fryer and fry for 15 minutes, turning the chicken pieces over once. Take the chicken pieces out of the deep fryer and let them drain on kitchen paper, or keep warm if necessary. Do the same with the 2nd half. Serve afterwards.
  4. French fries or wedges go well with it.
