Ingredients

  • 300 g dumplin bread or stale rolls, diced
  • liter ⅛ milk
  • 3 egg (s)
  • 1 small onion (s)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 250 g Swiss chard
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoon flour, possibly
  • Parmesan
  • some butter, browned

Instructions

  1. Whisk the milk with the eggs well, then pour over the bread and let it steep.
  2. In the meantime, dice the onions and garlic and sauté in the butter. Mix with the bread mixture.
  3. Briefly blanch the chard in boiling water, drain and chop finely. Add to the dumpling mass together with the spices and mix everything well.
  4. Shape the mixture into small dumplings and let them steep in gently boiling salted water for 15 minutes.
  5. If the mixture is too soft, a little flour should be added before shaping the dumplings.
  6. Pour browned butter over the finished dumplings and serve sprinkled with parmesan.
