Bolognese by Jamie Oliver

Bolognese is one of the basic dishes of Italian cuisine. It is not hard to guess that the homeland of this dish is Bologna. Jamie Oliver’s recipe includes all the best!

Servings: 5

Ingredients

  • Ground beef – 500 Grams
  • Onion – 1 Piece
  • Carrots – 1-2 Pieces
  • Celery stalk – 2-3 pieces
  • Garlic – 2-3 Cloves
  • Tomatoes – 1 Can (in their own juice)
  • Spaghetti – 350 Grams (at the rate of 70 grams per 1 serving)
  • Salt – 1 Teaspoon (or to taste)
  • Ground black pepper – 1 pinch
  • Fresh Basil – 1 Bunch
  • Olive oil – 3 tbsp
  • Grated Parmesan – 2-3 Art. spoons
  • Smoked Bacon – 2-3 Slices

Directions

  1. Prepare your ingredients.
  2. Cut the bacon into thin strips, fry in olive oil.
  3. Add finely chopped onions to the skillet.
  4. Add finely chopped carrots.
  5. Add finely chopped celery and garlic to the skillet. Fry over low heat for about 7-10 minutes.
  6. Put the ground beef to the fried vegetables, break into small lumps.
  7. Put the tomatoes to the fried minced meat with vegetables, stir, cover and simmer over low heat for about an hour.
  8. Grind the basil.
  9. 10 minutes before cooking add basil, grated parmesan to the sauce, season with salt and pepper to taste and simmer for about 10 minutes. If the sauce turns out to be dry, you can then add a little broth from pasta to it.
  10. Cook the spaghetti in a large saucepan in salted water according to the time indicated on the package until al dente. Drain.
  11. Put half of the meat sauce with the spaghetti, stir.
  12. Serve the Bolognese with the remaining sauce on top, sprinkle with grated Parmesan and garnish with fresh basil leaves. The result is a real Italian taste.
