Chicken Fillet Stewed with Pumpkin and Apples

Chicken fillet stewed with pumpkin and apples will please even those who do not really like pumpkin. All components are ideally combined with each other, apples give the dish a slight sourness, and garlic and Provencal herbs – a wonderful aroma. The dish cooks quickly, the chicken turns out juicy and delicious!

Servings: 3

Ingredients

  • Chicken fillet – 500 g
  • Pumpkin – 300 g
  • Apples – 270 g (2 pcs.)
  • Garlic – 2 cloves
  • Butter – 40 g
  • Vegetable oil (for frying) – 30 ml
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Dried Provencal herbs – to taste

Directions

  1. Peel the pumpkin and cut it into large cubes.
  2. Cut the chicken fillet into large cubes.
  3. Peel and chop the garlic with a knife.
  4. In a frying pan well heated with vegetable oil, fry the fillets for 5-7 minutes, until browned.
  5. Add chopped garlic, stir and fry for another 1 minute.
  6. Peel and core the apples and cut them into large cubes.
  7. Add chopped apples and pumpkin to the pan to the chicken fillet.
  8. Divide the butter into small pieces and spread evenly on top. Then sprinkle with salt, ground pepper, and Provencal herbs. Pour all 150 ml of water, cover, and simmer over low heat for 15-20 minutes. Stir the contents of the pan several times.
  9. When the water has completely evaporated and the pumpkin becomes soft, remove the pan from the heat.
