Dahlia Pie with Cottage Cheese

The king of baking is the Dahlia cake. Delicious soft dough and wonderful curd filling! And the cake made according to this recipe is very beautiful and delicious! My family told me to cook such a pie with cottage cheese at least every weekend! Everyone loved it!

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • Flour – 650 g
  • Milk – 100 ml
  • Water – 200 ml
  • Vegetable oil – 50 ml
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Dry yeast – 2 teaspoon
  • Vanilla sugar – 1 tbsp
  • Sugar – 60 g
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon

For filling:

  • Cottage cheese – 300 g
  • Egg white – 1 pc.
  • Sugar – 50 g

For decoration:

  • Yolk – for greasing the cake
  • Peeled sunflower seeds – for sprinkling

Directions

  1. Let’s start with the test. We will prepare all the products. Milk and water need warm.
  2. Cooking a quick dough. We combine water, milk, yeast and 2 tablespoon. tablespoons of sugar and flour. We mix.
  3. If the yeast is good, the dough will be ready in 5 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the flour with salt, vanilla sugar and the remaining sugar.
  5. Add egg, dough and vegetable oil.
  6. Knead the dough and knead it for 5-7 minutes.
  7. Then put the yeast dough in a cup, cover with a foil and let the dough double. By time – about 1 hour in a warm place. The dough is great!
  8. After that, slightly knead the dough for the pie and divide into 22 identical pieces (I got 43.5 g each).
  9. While the blanks-koloboks lie on the table (under the film), prepare the curd filling for the pie.
    Divide the egg into white and yolk. You will need the protein for the filling, and the yolk for greasing the cake before baking.
  10. Grind cottage cheese, sugar and egg white into a homogeneous mass.
  11. Roll out a piece of dough into a small rectangle, spread one tablespoon of the filling on the edge.
  12. We wrap the dough with curd filling in a roll. We cut the roll in half, try to do it obliquely.
    We do this with all the dough and filling, leaving one piece of dough without filling.
  13. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
    We put the resulting “petals” on a prepared baking sheet covered with parchment. For the first row, 18 “petals” are needed. We spread them in a circle, leaving the middle free.
  14. The formation of the second row will take 13-14 blanks. Place the remaining “petals” closer to the center. We don’t hammer the center too much, it’s okay if several blanks don’t fit. In the center we place a small dough bun, pressing slightly.
  15. Lubricate the whole dough with yolk, trying not to hurt the curd filling.
  16. Sprinkle the center of the pie with peeled sunflower seeds.
  17. We bake the miracle pie with cottage cheese in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
  18. Let the curd cake cool slightly and serve.
  19. The Dahlia Pie is easy to cut and has a delicious filling in every slice!
