Elegant Chocolate Cake

Chocolate Cake Recipe is a simple yet delicious and elegant pastry for those who love chocolate. Cocoa is added to both the dough and the fondant.

Servings: 8

Ingredients

(glass with a capacity of 250 ml)

  • Large eggs – 4 pcs.
  • Butter (room temperature) – 225 g
  • Sugar – 1 glass (to taste)
  • Cocoa powder – 0.25 cups
  • Flour – 1.75 cups
  • Baking powder – 1 teaspoon.
  • Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon

    For the chocolate fudge:

  • Cocoa powder – 0.5 cups
  • Powdered sugar – 1.25 cups
  • Butter (melted) – 4 tablespoon.
  • Milk – 3-4 tablespoon.

Directions

  1. Turn on the oven and preheat to 180 degrees. Oil two 20 cm diameter round tins and cover with parchment. (Or prepare one pan and bake two cakes in turn.)
  2. Sift flour, cocoa, and baking powder into a bowl.
  3. Add eggs, sugar (for those with a sweet tooth, you can add another 2 tablespoons), softened butter, vanilla.
  4. Beat everything with a mixer until smooth. Stir in 2 tbsp hot water. If the dough is not thin enough (it should drip from the mixer attachments) add 2 more spoons of hot water.
  5. Divide the dough into two tins (evenly) and flatten the surface.
  6. Bake the cakes for 35-40 minutes for them to rise (the cakes are ready, when they start to move away from the sides of the mold, you can check the readiness with a wooden stick).
  7. Make a chocolate fondant. Sift cocoa and powdered sugar into a bowl. Add melted butter and milk. Whisk until smooth. Add a little more milk, if needed, so the fudge isn’t too thick.
  8. Smear the cooled cakes with cooked chocolate fondant and lay them on top of each other.
