Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 170 g flour, (corn flour)
  • 115 g flour, (wheat flour)
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 3 peach (s), (halves from the tin)
  • 175 ml buttermilk
  • 1 large egg (s)
  • 30 g butter, melted
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ almond extract
  • Oil, for frying
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

For the cast:

  • 150 g powdered suar
  • orange juice

Instructions

  1. Mix the two types of flour with the sugar and salt. Cut three peach halves into small cubes. Mix the buttermilk with the egg, add the melted butter with the almond extract and stir in. Briefly stir in the peach pieces with a mixing spoon and then add this to the flour mixture. Stir until everything is well combined.
  2. Then you heat the oil in a deep pan. If it is the right temperature, you add heaping teaspoons with batter to the hot fat. Bake golden brown on one side before turning. If they are also the same color on the second side, you can take them out with a ladle and place them on a few layers of kitchen paper to drain.
  3. Then dust them with powdered sugar and place them on a plate or plate.
  4. Once the dough is baked, you can mix the powdered sugar with orange juice so that it is thick and flowing. This is then added to the balls and it is best to dip them in the icing sugar. You can also sprinkle the balls with the icing and it should definitely be eaten with them.
