- 1 teaspoon turmeric

- 1 clove garlic
- 1 kohlrabi
- 1 can peas
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 5 tablespoon flour
- 200 ml milk or cream

- Cook rice according to the instructions and let it evaporate longer.
- When the rice is dry, combine with 4 finely grated roots and 4 finely chopped onions in a large bowl.
- Add herbs and spices of your choice, as well as 2 eggs and a pressed clove of garlic. Possibly add chilli flakes and / or turmeric. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Add about 5 tablespoons of breadcrumbs so that you can shape the patties better later, maybe a little more if you feel the mixture is not so easy to shape.
- Shape the mixture into patties and, if necessary, turn them in breadcrumbs, then add to the pan. Caution: The patties should be handled with kid gloves, as the mass can fall apart more quickly in contrast to, for example, minced meat. Fry briefly on both sides. The patties don`t take long in the pan because the rice is already done.
- Cut the remaining roots and kohlrabi into small pieces and cook in salted water for about 15 minutes. Then add the drained peas and cook for another 5 minutes. Do not pour it off.
- Melt the butter in a separate saucepan and sweat the flour in it until it has a thick consistency, then add the roux to the stock pot and stir immediately until the sauce thickens. Refine with cream or milk. Season the sauce with salt and pepper and serve the vegetables with the patties.
- Can also be prepared vegan if the eggs are replaced with egg substitutes and milk / cream with soy milk / cream.
