Herring Buffet Rolls with Melted Cheese and Pickles

Herring buffet rolls are an appetizing, elegant and very tasty cold snack. Delicate herring fillet with pickles, melted cheese, butter and dill – the perfect combination!

Ingredients

  • Lightly salted herring (fillet) – 2 pcs.
  • Butter – 100 g
  • Processed cheese (soft) – 50 g
  • Pickled cucumbers – 50-70 g (2 pcs.)
  • Dill greens – 3-4 branches
  • Black (or gray) bread – 150 g

Directions

  1. We prepare products for the preparation of herring buffet rolls. We first take out the butter from the refrigerator, it should be soft. Also, in the cooking process, we need cling film.
  2. We spread the herring fillets overlapping on cling film and cover with the free edge of the film.
  3. Slightly beat off the herring and open the cling film.
  4. Chop the dill finely. You can leave a few twigs of dill to decorate the finished rolls.
  5. Add dill to soft butter and stir.
  6. Cut the cucumbers into small cubes. If the cucumbers are very juicy, pat them dry with a paper towel.
  7. Lubricate the herring with dill butter.
  8. Then grease with soft melted cheese.
  9. Put the sliced ​​cucumbers on top, lightly pressing into the creamy mass with your hands.
  10. Gently roll the stuffed herring into a roll.
  11. The resulting roll is tightly wrapped with cling film and sent to the refrigerator for 8 hours or overnight.
  12. We release the herring roll from cling film and cut it with a very sharp knife into slices 1.5-2 cm thick.
  13. Cut the bread into slices about 1 cm thick. Cut out circles from the bread slices using a glass.
  14. We spread the herring buffet rolls with melted cheese and pickled cucumbers on bread slices and serve.
