Directions

  1. Stewed rice with cauliflower is cooked in a pan. Such rice can be served as an independent dish, or as a second course for soups or borscht. I want to point out that rice, cauliflower, and minced meat (preferably with fat) go well with each other. First, you need to make vegetable frying, for this, peel the onion head and cut it into half rings.
  2. Heat the sunflower oil in a frying pan. Peel the carrots, grate on a coarse grater, and place in the pan.
  3. Pour onions into the carrots, mix. Fry over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
  4. Cauliflower must be disassembled into inflorescences and boiled in salted water. Cook for 5 minutes in boiling water and then cool on a plate.
  5. Take semi-boiled white rice. Rice can be taken wild or red, this is at personal discretion.
  6. Put raw minced meat on the floor with boiled rice, mix well. I took minced meat made from pork for this recipe, so it turned out to be fatty.
  7. Pour seasoning to the rice with minced meat, salt to taste. Seasoning can be taken for meat or minced meat. And if not available, add your commonly used spices.
  8. Now put the resulting mass of rice, spices, and minced meat in a pan, where onions and carrots have already been fried.
  9. Put a few tablespoons of thick sour cream, I advise you to use homemade sour cream for stewing, the dish will turn out to be tastier and more aromatic. Stir and cover, reduce heat.
  10. After 10 minutes add garlic, peeled,  and chopped into small pieces. Stir and continue cooking with the lid closed.
  11. After another 10 minutes add cauliflower inflorescences.
  12. Rinse green onions with water and then chop finely.
  13. Pour green onions into the pan and mix well. Simmer for another 5 minutes. Then turn off the heat and leave the rice covered for 10 minutes.
  14. Put the stewed rice on a plate and serve. Since the frying pan will cool down a little in 10 minutes, you can serve it directly in it. Fresh vegetables like tomatoes or cucumbers go well with such a hearty and juicy dish.
