Ingredients
- 300 grams flour
- 125 g suar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch (s) salt
- 2 medium egg (s)
- 150 g butter, or mararine
- 1 glass cherry (s), (22 ml) (Amarena-)
- 1 packet poppy seeds, (250 g)
- 1 egg yolk
- 150 g ranulated suar

- Work the flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, 1 egg and the butter (margarine) into a shortcrust pastry. Wrap in foil and chill for approx. 1 hour.
- Drain and finely chop the amarena cherries.
- Mix the poppy seed filling and 1 egg. Halve the dough. Roll out each piece of dough in a rectangular shape (approx. 30 x 18 cm) on baking paper. Spread half of the poppy seed filling, leaving an approx. 1.5 cm wide border free on the long side. Spread half of the cherries on top. Use the baking paper to roll up from the long side. Turn both rolls in granulated sugar, press down on the sugar. Chill the poppy seed rolls for about 1 hour.
- Whisk the egg yolk and 1 tablespoon of water. Cut each poppy seed roll into approx. 30 slices. Place on two baking sheets lined with baking paper. Brush the slices with egg yolk. Bake one after the other in a preheated oven at 180 ° C for approx. 15 minutes. Remove from the baking sheet and let cool on a wire rack.
