Baked Bagel with Chicken and Cheese

When there is no time for the dough, and children urgently need to be fed something tasty, prepare unusually, closed pizza-like round sandwiches with boiled chicken fillet, hard cheese, and ketchup. To do this, you can use soft yeast dough bagels or small round rolls. The stuffed bagels are baked in the oven.

Ingredients

  • Bagels (or small round rolls) from yeast dough – 2 pcs.
  • Chicken fillet – 300 g
  • Hard cheese – 100 g
  • Tomato ketchup – 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Greens (arugula), for serving – to taste

Directions

  1. Pour chicken fillet with 1 liter of cold water, bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 25-30 minutes.
  2. Remove the boiled chicken from the pan and cool.
  3. Turn on the oven to heat up to 180 degrees. Cut the bagels horizontally into two halves (with a bread saw).
  4. Use your hands or knife to remove some crumbs from each half of the donut.
  5. Lubricate the formed indentations with ketchup.
  6. Cut the chicken fillet into small cubes.
  7. Spread the fillet pieces evenly on the surface of the bagel, greased with ketchup. Season with salt and pepper.
  8. Cut the cheese into thin slices.
  9. Place the slices of cheese on top of the chicken fillet. Leave a few slices of cheese.
  10. Top with the other half of a bagel and brush with ketchup on top. Bake the chicken and cheese bagels in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  11. Then spread a few slices of cheese on top of the bagels and put them in the oven for another 2 minutes.
  12. Garnish with fresh herbs.
