Banana and Chocolate Puffs

Simple and at the same time unusual pastries made from ready-made puff pastry without yeast – fluffy puff buns with banana-chocolate filling. It is very easy to prepare such beautiful donuts and will not take much time. An original treat for morning coffee, a good sweet option for a picnic or just for tea.

Ingredients

  • Yeast-free puff pastry – 500 g
  • Large banana – 1 pc.
  • Chocolate (black or milk) – 70 g
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Flour (for dusting) – 3-4 tbsp

Directions

  1. We prepare products. It is better to get the finished puff pastry out of the refrigerator in advance. Such puffs with bananas are prepared very quickly, so we turn on the oven in advance to warm up to a temperature of 180 degrees.
  2. Rub the chocolate on a coarse grater.
  3. Divide the egg into white and yolk.
  4. Peel the banana and cut into slices about half a centimeter thick.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry into a thin layer about half a centimeter thick and divide it into 2 identical rectangles or squares. I had two small, identical dough pieces, so I just rolled them out to the required thickness.
  6. Lightly dust the edge of a glass, cup or dough cut with flour and make small round notches on one of the dough layers. Put a banana circle in the center of each notch.
  7. Beat the egg white a little with a fork. We coat the dough well around each banana circle with whipped egg white so that the bottom and top layers of the dough will not stick together during baking.
  8. We spread about 0.5-1 teaspoon of grated chocolate on each banana circle.
  9. Gently cover the layer of dough with the banana-chocolate filling with the second layer of dough.
  10. Lightly dust the edge of the glass, cup or dough cut with flour. Cover the bump (filling under a layer of dough) and press, thus cutting out the buns. From the specified number of products, I got 8 puffs. Dough scraps around the puffs can also be used to make puffs (by rolling the dough into a ball, dividing it into two, rolling them into two equal layers and stuffing with the remaining slices of banana and chocolate, like the previous puffs).
  11. Cover the baking sheet with parchment. We spread the puffs on a baking sheet.
  12. Lubricate the puffs with yolk and send them to the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for about 25 minutes.
  13. Lush puff buns with a banana-chocolate filling are ready. Cool them slightly and serve.
