Ingredients

  • 0.5 liter ½ buttermilk
  • 500 g bacon, mixed and in one piece
  • 100 g raisins
  • 500 g pear (s), peeled, pitted and cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoon flour
  • 5 tablespoon sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Cook the piece of bacon in 1/2 liter of water for about 1 1/2 hours with the lid closed (low flame). Then cut into slices and set aside.
  2. Cook the pears and raisins in the bacon broth for about 10 minutes.
  3. Mix the buttermilk, sugar, cinnamon and flour and bring to the boil briefly in an extra saucepan. Then slowly add the stock, pears and raisins and simmer for another 10 minutes.
  4. The soup is served hot and with the bacon strips.
  5. We prefer to eat whole grain bread with it (for dipping).
  6. Tip: with a pressure cooker, the cooking time of the bacon is reduced to approx. 20-25 minutes.
