Cakes on Kefir (in a Pan)

Such yeast-free cakes on kefir can be served instead of bread, they are great with first courses. These simple pan-fried tortillas can also be used to make sandwiches with a variety of toppings.

Ingredients

  • Flour – 250 g
  • Kefir – 170 ml
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Baking powder – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Salt – a pinch
  • Vegetable oil for frying – 1 tablespoon.

Directions

  1. Pour kefir into a bowl. We introduce a raw egg, salt and baking powder. We mix.
  2. Add sifted wheat flour.
  3. Knead the dough with kefir and leave for 10-12 minutes. The dough for the tortillas should be moderately dense, but not tight.
  4. Divide the dough into 4-6 pieces. We stretch each one with our hands, forming a small cake.
  5. We spread the cake in a preheated saucepan or a greased frying pan. We fry the cake for 2-3 minutes on each side.
    We repeat the whole process with the remaining test.
