Potato Cakes with Kefir

Delicious tortillas stuffed with potatoes. Hot and mouth-watering, with a garlic aroma. You can offer it to broth or supplement with herbs and serve as an independent dish. Try it.

Servings: 6-8

Ingredients

  • Potatoes – 5-6 Pieces
  • Egg – 1 Piece
  • Onion – 1 Piece
  • Kefir – 150 Milliliters
  • Vegetable oil – 60 Milliliters (40 ml. In the dough, 10 ml. For frying onions, 10 ml. For lubricating ready-made cakes.)
  • Wheat flour – 200-250 grams
  • Salt – 1 Pinch
  • Soda – 1 Pinch
  • Dill – 1 Bunch
  • Garlic – 2-3 Cloves

Directions

  1. Let’s prepare the ingredients.
  2. Pour kefir into a bowl, add salt and soda. We mix. The kefir should foam.
  3. Add a glass of flour.
  4. Pour in 40 ml. vegetable oil and mix everything.
  5. Add flour in small portions and knead the dough. Cover the finished dough with cling film and leave for 30 minutes, then divide into 6-8 equal parts.
  6. Peel the potatoes, cut them coarsely and cook until tender. We decant the water.
  7. Grind the potatoes, add the egg and salt.
  8. Cut the onion, fry it and pour it into the potatoes, add the chopped dill.
  9. Sprinkle a piece of dough with flour and roll it into a cake. Put the potato filling in the center.
  10. We wrap the filling in the dough.
  11. Press the dough with potatoes with your hand a little and gently roll out the cake.
  12. Fry in a dry frying pan on both sides until golden brown.
  13. In a bowl, mix vegetable oil and garlic passed through a press. Lubricate the cakes.
  14. Potato tortillas are ready. We serve hot.
