Ingredients
- 4 handfuls squid rings, unbreaded, frozen
- 1 small onion (s)
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 can tomato (s), chunky
- 1 tablespoon, heaped salad herbs, dried
- Salt and pepper, freshly ground
- some honey or sugar beet syrup
- possibly chili powder

- Heat the oil in the pan, cut the onions in half and then cut into strips and fry briefly together with the finely weighed garlic.
- Add the thawed and squeezed calamari and fry well and season with a little salt. Then add the chunky tomatoes from the can and let everything boil down a little. Season with salt and pepper and add the salad herbs. Simmer for about 5 minutes on a low heat and season with sugar beet syrup as a counterpoint to the acidity and possibly chilli.
- Rice goes very well with it.
- If you prepare the rice at the same time and the calamari are thawed, the preparation takes about 1/2 hour and is really tasty and makes a difference. Even beginners can do that!
