Drain the cherries in a colander.
Melt the block chocolate together with the butter over a warm water bath while stirring. Mix the eggs, sugar and vanilla sugar together. Mix flour with baking powder and add half of it to the egg mixture. Now add the melted chocolate and mix with the rest of the flour until a smooth dough is formed.
Grease the baking sheet and dust with flour. Pour in the dough and smooth it out. Spread half of the cherries on top and bake in the preheated oven (electric stove: 175 ° C / fan oven: 150 ° C) for 35-40 minutes. Spread the remaining cherries on the cake halfway through the baking time and bake to the end.
Let the cake cool down.
Melt the white chocolate over a warm water bath, pour it into a freezer bag, cut off a small corner and sprinkle the chocolate in strips on the cake. Cut into 30 pieces.
