Ingredients

  • 500g flour
  • 1 cube fresh yeast (42 g)
  • 250 ml soy milk (soy drink) or other plant-based milk
  • 50 grams sugar
  • 60 g mararine, vean (full fat e.. Alsan)
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • some soy milk (soy drink) or other plant-based milk for brushing

For the filling:, possibly

  • 200 g nuts, round
  • 100 ml soy milk (soy drink) or other plant-based milk
  • 100 g suar
  • 1 pinch (s) cinnamon powder

Instructions

  1. Sift the flour into a large bowl. Warm the plant milk (e.g. soy milk) slightly and dissolve the yeast in here with a pinch of sugar. Add the yeast solution to the flour and knead with the salt.
  2. Then knead in the margarine. It`s a pretty muddy process, but don`t let that bother you. Cover and let the dough rise for half an hour in a warm place.
  3. Then place the dough on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. To keep the dough nice and airy, you shouldn`t knead it anymore. Grease a second sheet of parchment paper, place over the dough and roll it out like this. Gently peel off the paper.
  4. Then cut the dough to size and braid it. Then brush with a little vegetable milk. Let rise for another 20 minutes and then bake at 180 ° C (top / bottom heat) until the dough is lightly browned, depending on your taste.
  5. If you want to fill the braid, you boil your filling with a little milk and sugar (e.g. 200 g nuts with 100 ml milk and 100 g sugar). A pinch of cinnamon makes it even better! Put on the dough before braiding and process it as usual.
