- 2 liters water
- 750 g turnip (s), small
- 550 g potato (s), fine, floury or mainly waxy
- 250 g sweet potato (s)
- 100 ml soy drink, milk or water
- 1 teaspoon, heaped nutmeg
- salt
- 2 slices cheddar cheese, optional
- possibly pepper

- Bring about 2 liters of water with 1 tablespoon of salt to a boil in a large saucepan.
- Cut the cleaned turnip unpeeled into thumb-sized pieces and add to the boiling water. 15 minutes later add the peeled and chopped potatoes and sweet potatoes.
- After another 20 minutes, pour off the cooking water. Add the nutmeg, cheddar and 1 teaspoon salt, and thoroughly mash and mix the entire contents of the pot with a potato masher. If necessary, season with a little pepper.
- Important:
- The addition of the liquid primarily controls the consistency. Therefore, mix in the soy drink (or milk) in sips until the desired consistency is achieved. Instead of milk or soy drink, some of the cooking water can also be used.
- Tip: A carrot can also be added as an option.
